TH7
TH7 attackers should always use the 11 light approach when attacking TH7 opponents. See video below.

TH8
As a TH8, your troop upgrade priority is: 1) dragons to level 3 2) loons to level 5 3) hogs to level 4
AD5 or lower - Always use Dragoon. See flowchart and videos below for Details. Note: for level 2 dragons, you should be attacking AD4 and lower only.
AD6x3 - GoHo is our only preferred method for dealing with AD6x3 bases. If you don't have level 4 hogs, then you need to get them, and you need to wait until you do to attack AD6x3 bases. Straight hog and GoWiPe are no longer used by our clan. The only exception is if two or more ADs are snipable, in which case dragons are acceptable.
This flowchart is a complete representation of our attack decision-making for TH8s. Hog or Goho now means GoHo only.

105 Dragoon
For TH8 bases with central ADs. All ADs within 5 tiles of each other. Great explanation of TH8 Dragoon attack. 10 Drags, 5 max Loons in the CC. 2 rage and 1 heal or 2 heal and one rage. 813 Dragoon STANDARD
For TH8 bases with more central ADs that are not close to the edge. 8 Drags. 8 Loons+5Loons in CC. Hence the 813. 3 Lightning. Light out the most buried AD, then cut both sides of the AD that is closest to the edge. Then drop rest of drags in middle. Then inventory loons with drags. They take that AD out, wait for the final AD to lock on the drags (and for their cc to deploy), then drop your cc max loons to head toward it. Consider drawing cc across an AD before blowing it out with light to kill them both. |
Dragon Snipe
For TH8 bases with ADs on the perimeter. If one AD is buried, then carry 3 light, otherwise carry heals. 7 drags, 17 hogs, 5 archers. 813 TRIDENT
This is an alternative to the dragon snipe attack for bases where there are 2 ADs within 2 hops of the edge. 8 Drags. 8 Loons+5Loons in CC. Hence the 813. 3 Lightning. Light out the most buried AD. Find the hardest to access AD of the 2 remaining and cut in and drop your entire drag inventory. Once the drags are targeted by the AD, drop in FOUR of your inventory loons. Once the final AD targets your drags drop in one inventory loon followed by the cc loons to take it out. Finally, as your attack winds down, use the final 3 inventory loons to snipe backside defenses. Note that these 3 can be used earlier in the attack to take out flanking ATs to help keep your main attack force focused. |
11 Light Dragon Attack
TH8 bases with 2 ADs within 5 tiles Troops: Simple: 11 Dragons, 3 Light Light out an AD. Attack broadside to the other two ADs with a 45 degree arc. 1-2 cut dragons on each side of the arc. GoWiPe Snipe-Lo
Gowipe snipe with loons. Pay close attention to the 2nd attack, not so much the first. Troops (TH8) 2 Golems, 2 Pekka, 9 wiz, 8 loons, 7 wb (200) CC: CC21B (2 max witch one barb) Spell: 2 Heal, 1 Rage Looking for ADs in mid, exposed archer towers. Gowipe then snipe the back end when ADs are down. |
Hog CC21 (NO LONGER RECOMMENDED - USE GOHO)
For dense TH8 bases with no double giant bombs (2x4 space) - or where you can clear the double bombs. Troops (TH9) 33 Hogs (L3+), 4 Wiz, 2 Giants (Lure), 5 arch, 3 barbs. CC21: 2 Witches and 1 Barb Lure, then clump cc troops. Drop 2 arch, then your cc, then 1 wiz flanking the cc on each side. Spread your hogs on a 50 degree arc to reduce spring trap impact. Heal in areas where giant bombs or high dps defenses lie. |
TH8 GoHo
After defeating JTJ, Wryhorn was kind enough to shoot a video of some of our TH8 GoHo attacks. |
TH9
There are only two recommended attack methods currently at TH9. 1) GoLaLoon 2) GoHo. We normally use coldblooded (1 Golem), but shattered (2 Golems) is also used on occasion. Here are the troop mixes and general overview for Th9s.
GoLaLoon - Coldblooded
GoHo - Coldblooded
GoLaLoon - Coldblooded
- 16 loons
- 4 Level 2 Hounds
- 4 wizards
- 2 wbs
- CC of 1 max Golem
- 3 Rage, 1 Light -or- 2 Rage, 1 Light, 1 Jump for a buried queen
- Ideal base will allow you to lure the cc while you kill the queen, if not you will need to lure cc first, then put down your kill squad.
- Kill squad down near the queen, along with wbs or a jump to get you to the queen. KS consists of Golem, 4 wiz, Heroes, wbs.
- Let the cc troops stack near the queen and light them and press the kings ability at the same time
- Queen should clean up remaining troops, take the queen out, and ideally take out an AD in the process.
- Find an attack point where you can quickly rage to the mid. Drop 2 hounds on an AD, follow with 2 loons mapped to each perimeter defense, drop 3 sets of 2 -- leaving 2 loons for later. Once those are down, drop the other 2 hounds on the adjacent AD, followed by 4 more sets of 2 hounds.
- Rage both sets of loons to the mid, then a 3rd rage (if you didn't use a jump spell) to get them through the mid.
- For outlying air targeting defenses, wait for them to target your main loons or a hound, then drop the 2 loons nearby to snipe them out. One loon per defense.
GoHo - Coldblooded
- 30 Hogs
- Optional Giants - if useful in luring you can replace a couple of hogs with Giants
- 8 wizards
- 4 wbs
- 3 archers
- 3 barbs
- 2 witches
- CC of 1 max Golem
- 4 heal or 3 heal and 1 jump for a a buried queen
- Lure the Clan Castle. Failure to do so will kill your raid. Make sure you get a full pull.
- Detonate any double giant bombs.
- Draw the cc to an outlying structure near the Queen. If the queen is seriously buried, you will need to trade 6 hogs for another Goelm and do a shattered raid.
- When the enemy cc is within 10 tiles of your draw point, drop arch, arch, barb, barb, barb, witch, witch, wiz, wiz, AQ in rapid succession.
- Flank those troops with your Golem dropped directly in line with the queen as an additional distraction.
- Send in wbs to get close to the queen.
- Cut your kill squad and king in using the 6 remaining wizards
- Wait for the queen to engage
- Now drop your hogs and heal over any remaining potential giant bombs.
GoWiPe Snipe. For TH9s with central ADs. 1 or 2 Loons per air targeting tower after the ADs are down. Preferably after the troops are distracting those towers. Attack line is a straight line through the 2 Xbows on the side with the Queen. Attack Arc is 50 degrees between Golem. 2Gol, 18 Wiz, 9 wb, 2 P, 9 Loons, 1st Heal always, Rage to center. For last two choose heal, rage, jump as you like.
Deploy: G, WB, Wiz, PK, KQ. Hold 6 wiz and loons. |
Quatro Lavaloonion (first and 4:40 ) and GoWiWi (2:10).
QuatroLavaloonion (TH9 comp) -> 20 loons, 3 hounds, 15 minions, CC=1 hound, 3 rage, 1 lightning. GoWiwi (TH9 comp) -> 2G, 6 W, 10 WB, 2 Hog (lure), 5 barb, 5 arch, 2 rage, 1 jump, 1 light (rage if luring) |
HoLo - Hogs and Loons
30 Loons 13 hogs 4 arch & 1 barb 2 Heal, 2 Rage CC Kill Squad = 2 witches, 2 barbs, 1 wiz Must have a hog ring with central d, spread base. 1-2 loons per perimeter defense structure. Loons will take out the perimeter and also trigger the cc. lure to the edge and put down a couple of arch followed by your kill squad. Once they are handled, hogs to the center careful to avoid any double giant bombs (DGBs) |
GoWiPe HoWi (Snipe). For TH9s where 1/2 of the base is dense with no DGBs (double giant bombs). Attack from the less dense side as a normal GoWiPe attack. Use 2 rage to get to the mid, then your heal in the mid. Once your core troops are in the mid, deploy 7 or so hogs on the back end along with a heal spell and a witch behind them. No lure.
Troop Comp (TH9) 1 Gol, 12 Wiz, 9 wb, 3 P, 1 witch, 2 arch, 7 hogs. CC = 1 max Golem. Spells (2 rage, 2 heal (reserve last heal for backside). |
GoHo. TH9 with no DGBs. Lure, cc kill squad (arch to lure, then drop barbs followed by cc). Kill CC troops on the side nearest the queen. Once controlled, drop in the Golem, K, Q, all but 2 wiz, wbs. Let them work toward mid being pulled by the Queen hopefully. Once Queen is engaged, drop hogs and start healing where you see possible GBs. Use remaining 2 wiz to support as needed.
Troop Comp (TH9) 1 Gol, 28 Hog (less if using Giants to lure), 8 Wiz, 6 wb, 2 Arch, 4 Barbs. Spells (4 heal) CC - 212 (2 witch, 1 wiz, 2 barbs) (or CC21 for 25 size) Additional Videos: From Matty - 2 GoHo Attacks |
Hogs vs Lava. Excellent collection of sample attacks of GoHo and Lavaloonion attacks for TH9s. About 10 or so 3 star samples here.
Standard troop comp for Quatro: CC = 1 max hound camps = 3 hounds (lv 2) and 26 loons 3 rage 1 heal or 4 rage Can trade out a couple of loons for minions if you have high level minions |
Quatro LavaLoon (JTJ version).
ADs spread. Can either snipe 2 ads or snipe one ad and the queen with a kill squad. Need your kill squad to deal with the queen and one AD at a minimum. If you can then hog snipe the other AD, great. Troop Comp (TH9) Camps: 4 hounds, 17 loons, 2 wiz, 2 wb, 3 arch CC: Pekka Spells: 3 rage, 1 light (if not doing a cc kill), otherwise 3 rage and 1 heal. Can also use a jump spell for the kill squad if needed. If you have a solid king, he can be the meat shield and you can dump the golem for more loons. |
TH10
Key check points:
- Single targ infernos (at least one) and/or x-bows down, look at air. Quatrolavaloonion, or Loonion
- Multi targ infernos, spread base, gowiwi
- Multi targ infernos compact base, gowipe
- Central ADs, gowiwi snipe or gowipe snipe
- Easy path to the TH (non central TH), Multi Targ infernos, xbows down is a bonus, Super Dragoon

GoWiWipe: Several good sample attacks. A best of both worlds combination of GoWiPe and GoWiWi.

GoWiWipe: First attack from Godson is a nice one. Maybe with 4 WBs, could have been 3 star.

Quatro Lavaloonion (TH10 comp)
Drop CC first, then 4 hounds spread. Drop point is on the side of the single targ inferno. Make a wide spread of loons after the hounds. Deploy first 2 rage very deep. Then 2 freeze and final rage. Deploy WBs after defenses down to get heroes through first level of walls. Use a single archer to lure skels and to see the path your heroes are likely to take. Finally, heroes to take down the th. Additional Quatro Lav Videos January 26, 2015 - Galladon - 3 attacks |
Triple Lava Hound
At 2:55. This one is interesting. Kill squad on the front end taking out as many ADs and infernos as possible followed by the air attack on the back end. 3 stars. |
KHC2 LavaLoon
-- Level -- TH10 (typically Entry Level) -- Type -- Ground/Air Mix -- Mix -- 2 Golems (1 from CC w/ Gi), 4 Wiz, 4 WB, 3 Hounds, 18 --Loons, End Game Clutter Clear -- 3 Goblins/3 Archers -- Attack Keys -- AD/Q Buried Deep, AD not max, TH10 Entry -- Nickname -- KHC2, LavaLoon (KHC2 stands for King Henry and his Court and 2 Golems) Three examples of 3 stars using this attack but keep in mind max heros were involved in all attacks (so getting the iTower down may be difficult w/o that). Basically, the goal is to get 2 Golems in after a buried queen. Backed by both heroes, and with luck, they take out an AD and an Inferno tower. With that, drop one Lava per remaining AD, backed by loons. |
TH10 SuperDragoon
The troops (TH10):
HPL Preferred Troop Allocation
The technique:
- 14 balloons (or 10 balloons)
- 8 dragons (or 9 dragons)
- 6 archers
- 4 barbs
- 3 lightning spells
- 2 rage spells (1 rage and 1 heal if you use hogs in your CC)
- Clan castle full of balloons**
- ** Note: Instead of 7 balloons in the CC, you can use 7 hogs in the CC. **
HPL Preferred Troop Allocation
- 11 balloons
- 9 dragons
- 2 archers
- 3 barbs
- 3 lightning
- 1 rage
- 1 heal
- CC full of Hogs (7) (If needed, you can replace 2-3 balloons with hogs in the camps -- sometimes required if AD is deeply embedded)
The technique:
- Destroy 1st air defense by dropping the CC and raging it (or healing it if you have hogs in the cc). IMPORTANT: you must choose an AD that will also lure the clan castle troops.
- Using barbs and archers, lure the CC troops near the 2nd Air Defense. Hit the AD with 3 lightning and destroy that and the cc troops.
- String balloons on both sides to clear a middle path to the TH. Drop 2 dragons on each side right behind the balloons.
- Once the path is clear to TH (preferably before the 4 dragons are killed), dump the remaining dragons and the heroes, then rage to the TH with the remaining 1 or 2 rage spells.
Overview of the technique.

First video is another nice sample attack.
